Physical Education (PE) Intent Statement

PE: PE promotes physical health, teamwork, resilience, and a love of being active.

At St Chad’s RC Primary, we aim to help every child develop their God-given talents through Physical Education. Our PE curriculum encourages children to care for their bodies, enjoy being active, and develop physical skills across a wide range of activities.

Through PE, children will:

  • Build agility, balance, coordination, and overall physical health.

  • Develop resilience, teamwork, and a positive, enthusiastic approach to challenges.

  • Learn values such as fair play, respect, winning with dignity, and being gracious in defeat.

  • Gain important skills that support success both in and beyond school.

We enrich PE learning through partnerships with City in The Community and participation in TeamMCR, providing opportunities for competitive and inclusive sports experiences for all ages and abilities. Pupils in Year 5 also work with the British Taekwondo Team, working towards achieving a belt in Taekwondo.
