Religious Education Intent

“A good school provides a rounded education for the whole person. And a good Catholic school, over and above this, should help all its students to become saints.”
— Pope Benedict XVI, 2010

Religious Education lies at the heart of our curriculum and school life. At St Chad’s RC Primary, we are committed to the Catholic faith, valuing every child as special and unique in the image of God. We aim for every child to be a happy, enthusiastic learner of RE, eager to achieve their best and fulfill their God-given talents.

Through RE, children will:

  • Understand their unique place within their home, school, and parish community.

  • Develop a personal faith in Jesus Christ and a knowledge and love of God.

  • Recognise God’s presence in their lives and in the lives of others through prayer and reflection.

  • Learn to show love and respect to everyone, preparing them for life in a multi-faith society.

  • Grow in love of their faith, love for others, and love of themselves.

Our Religious Education curriculum follows the Come and See and Lighting The Path programme, providing a structured and enriching faith journey for all pupils.
